A sherried expression from the Kurayoshi range, created by little-known Japanese whisky producer Matsui Shuzou (also known for sake and shochu). These whiskies are blended malts, made with whiskies distilled in Scotland and shipped over to Japan, where they're blended with Japanese whisky.
Made with a combination of Japanese and Scottish whiskies. Aromas of ripe fruit, dark chocolate and garden herbs fill the nose, complemented by aromas of orange, lemongrass and raisins on the palate.
Tasting Notes
Nose : Walnuts and chocolate peanuts, with a touch of cranberry.
Palate : Sultana and honeyed bread, with a lingering touch of ground ginger.
Finish : Crunchy brown sugar, stewed pears and blueberries.
About Kurayoshi
Kurayoshi Distillery, operated by Matsui Shuzo in Tottori Prefecture, Japan, is known for producing the Kurayoshi whisky range. Located near Mount Daisen, the distillery benefits from the region’s pure, soft spring water, which contributes to the smooth character of its whiskies. Kurayoshi Distillery combines traditional Japanese techniques with Scottish influences, ageing whiskies in carefully selected casks such as American oak and sherry casks.
