Original vintage Gold Spot soda crate. Gold Spot was a popular fizzy orange drink in India. These iconic branded crates make great bedroom and living room storage for toys, books and kitchen utensils. We also have Pepsi, Citra and Thums Up available. We have restored and replaced the bottle dividers with reclaimed wood.
There are 24 bottle slots.
Gold Spot was one of 3 brands of carbonated soft drink started in India by food and drinks maker Parle Bisleri in 1977 after Coca-Cola and PepsiCo ceased trading in India. Gold Spot was an orange-flavoured drink in a clear glass bottle. In 1993 Parle sold Gold Spot with Thums Up, Limca, Citra and Maaza to Coca Cola. It was soon withdrawn by Coke to make space for their own orange Fanta brand.
Once a very common sight they are now rare having been replaced by plastic crates, then aluminium tins and now plastic bottles.
Each crate is different and some show faded brand signage.
Size: W45cm x D30cm x H12cm
Our crates, boxes, trunk and chests are not new or made to look old. They may have small marks and scratches on them, which are consistent with their age and original use. We feel these add to their character and appeal. Please look at the photos to get an idea of their condition.
