About our Backpacks for Women

Our leather backpacks act as a practical and stylish everyday bag. They were designed in Scotland by our talented design team and handmade in India by our brilliant artisans. Our leather backpacks are crafted from hunter leather with three external pockets and two comfortable leather straps. This bag can fit a 15-inch laptop and A4 documents as well as clothes, wallet, keys and passport for those who travel when they work. The bag is comprised of one large main compartment, lined with canvas which contains one small internal zipped compartment. We've carefully designed this bag with three external pockets, one on each side and one smaller zipped compartment under the straps so your items remain safe and secure. There's nothing worse than bags that look great but lack functionality.

Why Buffalo Hunter Leather?

We use buffalo hunter leather because it's a semi-vegetable tanned leather. This means it's dyed using organic materials such as bark. It's an environmentally-friendly choice compared to the harmful chemicals used to dye other leather types. Vegetable tanning is a traditional skill which takes around 40-60 days to develop. The process provides the leather with a natural aromatic smell and requires skilled craftspeople to complete it successfully. Vegetable tanning is the superior choice when it comes to the longevity of your products. Chrome-tanned leathers are treated with acrylic varnish which causes them to crack, peel and split after just a few years. In contrast, your vegetable-tanned leather bag will soften over time, meaning it develops a lovely patina as it ages. Semi-vegetable tanned leathers keep the character within the hides, meaning that every bag you buy from Scaramanga has its own unique pattern to it. This may result in differences in texture, colour and shading. There is a possibility that there may be small marks individual to the backpacks. We think this adds to the individual character of the backpack.
