Incredible set of four Early 19th century museum worthy French Louis XVI walnut fauteuils or armchairs. Exquisite carving all around, with florets at the top of each beautifully spiral turned tapered leg. Acanthus leaves carved into the base of each arm, with carved ribbon scrolling across each apron. The carved detail in each chair is only complemented by the beautiful original fabric, appropriately faded to a lovely neutral backgound, with centered floral and cornucopia themes on the backs and seats: its original hand stitched fabric - in great shape except for one small repairable tear (see photos). These elegant chairs will dress up any living room or dining room, or any room in the home.
