How Our Classes Work

Children of different ages and experience levels learn together in the same class. Each student works on their own project and receives individual guidance from the teacher. Students can create accessories or real clothing, depending on their skills, interests, and goals.

Note: Pattern drafting is not taught. Garments are made using existing patterns (T-shirts, pants, pajamas, skirts).

Age: Youth, ages 5 and up

Accessories Projects
Overview

This weekly class teaches students the fundamentals of sewing, including machine and hand-stitching skills, through fun, hands-on projects. All materials are included in the class fee.

What Students Will Make

✔ Tote bags, pouches, scrunchies, organizers
✔ Seasonal or themed accessories

Skills Students Will Learn

✔ Sewing machine operation and safety
✔ Basic hand-sewing techniques
✔ Seams, hems, and simple construction methods
✔ Problem-solving through step-by-step project building
✔ Creativity, focus, and fine motor skill development

✔ All materials included in class fee
✔ Students may bring their own fabrics if desired

Simple Clothing Projects

Overview

For students with prior sewing experience, this class focuses on creating wearable garments such as sleepwear, T-shirts, pants, and skirts.

Additional $75 CAD Materials & Instruction Fee applies, covering fabrics, notions, and extra guidance.

What Students Will Make

✔ Sleepwear sets (tops and bottoms)

✔ Pants, shorts, skirts

Who Can Sew Clothes?

Recommended for ages 9+ with basic sewing experience

Skills Students Will Learn

✔ Adapting existing patterns for proper fit
✔ Sewing with knit fabrics and other garment materials
✔ Garment construction: seams, hems, elastic, closures

Materials & Fees

✔ Additional $75 CAD per term
✔ Includes knit fabrics and sewing notions (thread, elastic, trims)
✔ Students may bring other fabrics if desired

Important Notes

✔ Weekend classes run as normal; no long weekend cancellations
✔ Makeup classes: up to 2 per semester
✔ No refunds, credits, or extensions after semester ends
✔ 5% sibling discount applied automatically

Registration Guidelines

✔ No refunds after registration
✔ Course schedules may be adjusted upon request
✔ Notify at least 2 weeks before semester starts if unable to attend; tuition may be credited for future use
✔ By registering, you agree to these terms and conditions

Weekly Attendance Policy

✔ Provide at least 24 hours’ notice for absences
✔ Missed classes may be made up up to 2 times per semester
✔ No refunds, credits, or extensions after semester starts or ends

Safety & Behavior

✔ Minor injuries (needle pricks, small cuts) possible
✔ Studio not responsible if student leaves without permission
✔ Disruptive or aggressive behavior will result in parent pickup; no refunds or credits

Photo Permission

The studio may take photos for teaching or promotion on website and social media (Red Book, Facebook, WeChat, Instagram).
