This is more than just a colouring book. It’s a journey! …where curious minds capture The Art of Wellbeing.
The adventure starts when Poly Moone arrives on Veronica‘s doorstep – this is no ordinary place. From a fox who flies and a squirrel who gardens, to a brave little bird alongside a sceptical Top Cat – the seeds of friendship are everywhere.
Pictures tell a tale of ageless exploration, of the struggles we all have to be happy and find purpose. A place that inspires curiosity, courage and friendship – captured for you to colour. Ready for a new perspective? Grab your colours, step through the gate and see what you discover in Veronica’s Garden.
The book is A4 size (210 x 297 mm) and 52 pages in total including the cover. There are 45 illustrations to colour some small, some large. I draw with 0.1mm and 0.05mm Copics so the lines are very fine allowing you to colour right into the outlines. You can click through the photos to check it out. The spine is Singer sewn for strength – plus I think it looks great. I also find it much easier than perfect bound books myself because the pages open fully flat for colouring. There’s a boarder left around the illustrations, so no need to fuss with colouring into the spine. Please click “Additional Information” for more details.
The inner paperstock is 140gsm. It has a very natural feel and just a little tooth to catch your pencil crayon. It is thick enough to blend and layer colours. The cover is 300gsm paperstock. It too is uncoated which I like again for the natural feel, being eco-friendly and it gets a nice worn-in feel making it mine!
I love pencil crayons. I personally use either Prismacolor or Faber-Castell Polychromos pencil crayons for their superior pigment and blending ability. I’m sure there are other terrific colours out there so do experiment! Markers work too depending on the brand and type. Alcohol based markers like W&N promarkers bleed through, however, I’ve used water based markers successfully. Do test your markers beforehand to make sure they won’t bleed through. No matter your media of preference, I recommend putting a blank sheet of paper behind the illustration you are colouring so as not to mark the next page. Happy colouring!
