The DR-05X RED Stereo Digital-Audio Recorder is the latest version of the legendary series of handheld recorders by Tascam and the successor of Tascam’s DR-05 recorder. The DR-05X has an audio interface with a pair of omnidirectional stereo microphones that can be used the catch various audio including music recording applications. The DR-05X has an improved interface allowing easy access recording, level adjustment, added markers, and deleted takes. Tascam also included a studio-quality 2-in/2-out USB audio interface for excellent use in podcasting, digital audio workstations, and more. The bright white backlit display offers menus in multiple language options and a dictation mode, which enables the user to jump back audio playback, including speed control and EQ. Also most noteworthy, Tascam’s DR-05X offers an overwrite mode, the audio record function can be set to begin recording when a sound is detected. Overwrite mode which allows selecting a precise record drop-in time for replacement recordings with one level of undo.
