About This Wine

​Dom Pérignon’s 2017 Vintage is a triumph of radical selection born from a notoriously difficult growing season. Severe spring frosts followed by torrential August rains forced the maison to execute a ruthless sorting process, resulting in the smallest volume release in the history of the house. Composed of 61% Chardonnay and 39% Pinot Noir with a precise 5 g/L dosage, this rare bottling behaves like a more chiseled, structurally endowed relative of the legendary 2002 vintage.

​In the glass, it presents a radiant, pale straw-gold with a microscopic, persistent mousse. The bouquet opens with signature reductive precision, unfurling into an exotic mix of lemon confit, toasted hazelnuts, crushed oyster shells, and warm cacao bean. On the palate, the wine shows a striking contrast between opulent, creamy contours and a driving, lemony acidity. Flavors of dried pears and white raspberry give way to an attractively bitter, phenolic structure, culminating in a remarkably long, smoky finish anchored by vibrant salinity.​
