A lovely large distinctive vintage wardrobe travel trunk with a wonderful patina and selection of authentic travel tag and labels. A well travelled piece of travel history made by Hartmann. The labels show the trunk sailed on the RMS Canton, built by Alexander Stephen and Sons was launched on 14th April 1938, running sea trials on 11th September, before delivery to P&O two days later, and sailing from London on 10th October for Bombay, Singapore, Hong Kong and Yokohama.
Scaramanga estimates this nice-to-come-by fancy piece of British-made travel luggage is from the 1920s.
