We utilize Sheppard Brackets brand for our floating mounts, which are extremely sturdy and feature a 3-inch wide mounting plate. We provide two installation options: recessed mount and non-recessed mount.

For the recessed mount, we create a pocket with a router to allow the bracket to sit flush. This is necessary if you intend to install your mantel on a finished wall, like one with shiplap siding.

For the non-recessed mount, we do not create a pocket for the bracket, resulting in the bracket protruding approximately 1/8 inch. This option is suitable if you plan to have your mantel wrapped, for instance, with stone veneer.
