Richard Luboski (1934-83) was born in St. Joseph, Missouri. He moved to Paris France in 1957 to continue his development as an artist and become immersed in the arts. He was one of many brilliant artists that the world lost to AIDS/HIV.
In addition to his artwork Richard wrote Mihloud. Mihloud was published posthumously and anonymously in France in 1986. The preface to Mihloud was written by Simone de Beauvoir. This was Simone’s last published work. More information about Mihloud can be found further down this biography.
Richard studied art at the St. Joseph Junior College, the University of Kansas, Columbia University in New York, and in France at the Sorbonne, the Ecole des Beaux Arts, the Atelier Chaplain-Midi and the Ecole Andre Lhote. In 1972 he earned the Tiffany Grant for sculpture. He showed on both sides of the Atlantic beginning in 1960.
