Ingredient Transparency

We know that ingredient names, even all-natural ones, can
sound confusing. Since most of us are not cosmetic chemists, here’s a glossary
of the ingredients, including their function, where they are sourced, and what
EWG Ratings they carry (when applicable).

Coco-Glucoside: A gentle surfactant made from
natural, certified RSPO (Responsibly Sourced Palm Oil) with excellent
dermatological properties and foams well. We use it as a co-surfactant in
cleansing preparations. It is often used in baby washes because it is so mild.
Sustainably sourced and produced in Wisconsin, USA. (EWG=1)

Sodium Laurylglucosides Hydroxypropylsulfonate: An
extremely gentle surfactant, naturally derived from sustainable coconut and
corn and biodegradable. We selected this gentle cleanser because it is
extremely mild and provides exceptional lather. Made in Tennessee, USA. (EWG=1)

Sodium Methyl Cocoyl Taurate: An extremely
gentle surfactant made from natural RSPO (Responsibly Sourced Palm Oil).
(EWG=1)

Cocamidopropyl Hydroxysultaine: A natural
surfactant derived from coconut fatty acids and made in the USA. An
exceptional, stable, rich foam can be achieved using coconut fatty acids as a
starting material. (EWG=1)

Sodium Olivate: Created from naturally sourced
saponified olive oil used as a surfactant. It also has an amazing velvety skin
feel, since olive oil is so close to the composition of human skin. (EWG=1)

Caprylhydroxamic Acid and Glyceryl Caprylate: This
blend is made from natural vegetable sources. Combining these two ingredients
helps to protect the formulation from developing bacteria, yeast, and mold.
Made in Pennsylvania, USA. (EWG=1)

Gluconolactone and Sodium Benzoate: Naturally derived
from Gluconic Acid, the combination of Gluconolactone and Sodium Benzoate
offers broad-spectrum microbial protection in our formulations. (EWG=1-3)

All-Natural Fragrance:   We partnered with one of the leading US-based fragrance houses to develop our custom, all-natural scents. Our Strawberry scent includes Natural Triethyl Citrate (EWG-1), Natural Maltol (EWG-1), Natural Oxanone (EWG-1), Natural Gamma Decalactone (EWG-1), Natural Raspberry Ketone (EWG-1), Natural Hexanol (EWG-1).
