Jostaberry (Ribes × nidigrolaria)
A complex cross between gooseberry and black currant that produces dark, tasty berries that are good for fresh eating or cooking. Unlike gooseberry, jostaberry is thornless and it tends to crop more heavily than black currant. It prefers rich, well drained soil and will produce best in full sun, but will certainly still crop in partial shade and in very hot climates benefits from afternoon shade. We offer plants grown from hardwood cuttings and are approximately 16’ tall. Hardy to zone 4 at least.
