Founded in 1825 under the name Glenforres and renamed Edradour in 1837, this distillery was bought in 2002 by Andrew Symington, founder of the Signatory Vintage trading house. Since 2018, its single malt has been produced in the brand new adjacent distillery. An exact replica of the old one, it is equipped with a Morton wort cooler, a unique model in Scotland, eight Oregon pine washbacks, a 4,200-litre wash still and a 2,200-litre spirit still. Wonderfully oxidative, this version will undoubtedly appeal to lovers of old-style sherry casks. Full of subtlety, its aromatic and taste palette is notably crossed by a multitude of fruits whose diversity is matched only by its eloquence.
