This chasen (matcha whisk) is designed for koicha (thick tea) and has slightly thicker and stronger tines to blend the matcha into a smooth, concentrated paste-like tea. The writing on the box reads "Dainihon Chado Gakkai" (Japan Tea Ceremony Society), one of the schools of tea ceremony. This chasen is ideal for chado students and intermediate tea enthusiasts who want to practice the refined, formal preparation of koicha.
Notice: Due to the whisk being handmade, there may be slight variation in appearance.
