These heavy-duty ramp assist springs are designed to fit onto the ramp hinge shaft. They can become slack with age & sometimes need replacement. These springs will fit on a 1" OD" diameter shaft. They are made slightly larger, because they will get smaller when torque is applied. When you are standing behind the trailer looking at the ramp, the left-hand springs are on your left, the right-hand springs are on your right.
