From The Winemaker

This 2021 vintage of Clos du Val Yettalil presents a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, Merlot, and Petit Verdot, sourced from the renowned Stags Leap District and Napa Valley regions. The 17-month aging period took place in 40% new French oak barrels from esteemed coopers such as Taransaud, Seguin Moreau, Demptos, and Quintessence. With a pH of 6.2 and 5.7 g/L of acid, this wine offers a balanced and complex profile, perfect for pairing with a variety of dishes. Harvested between September 10th and October 11th of 2021, this vintage was bottled on June 7-8th, 2021.

Tasting Notes

The fullest expression of our Hirondelle Estate vineyard in the renowned Stags Leap District, this wine opens with fresh aromas of black cherry, cassis, fresh thyme, and spice. On the palate, lively acidity and polished tannins are joined by complex notes of dark chocolate, black tea, raspberry, and sweet tobacco.
