This is a biography of the Olympic athlete and missionary, Eric Liddell.
Eric Liddell ran, and ran fast!
Eric Liddell became famous in his day as an Olympic athlete, and is widely known even today because of the award-winning film, Chariots of Fire. But many do not know about the rest of his life. Eric had a deep love for people and wanted to serve God as a missionary. After the Olympics, he returned to the land where he was born—China—to be a teacher. During World War 2, Eric was among the foreigners brought to a prison camp in China. In spite of the hard life in the camp, Eric helped and showed kindness to everyone. A Bible teacher who knew Eric in those days said this about him: Eric “came as close to being a saint as anyone I have ever known.”
This is the inspiring story of a simple and humble man who chose God over Gold.
This book also includes Guide Questions which helps children draw lessons from Eric Liddell’s life.
