Mars Komagatake 2023 Edition Japanese Single Malt Whisky 70cl

Komagatake Single Malt is produced at the Mars Komagatake Distillery, located at the foot of Komagatake Mountain in the Central Alps, surrounded by lush nature, with fresh air and pure mountain water.

Mars Komagatake restarted production in 2011 after a 19-year hiatus. Since then, they have carefully monitored the maturation of their whisky. Komagatake Single Malt "Edition 2023" gains in complexity compared to previous editions. It is aged mainly in bourbon casks, supplemented by sherry and port casks. You will find the key characteristics of the Komagatake style: an elegant, rich and smooth whisky.

Tasting Notes

Nose : Fruity notes of apricot, orange peel and banana are followed by an elegant and deep touch reminiscent of black tea.

Palate : Elegant entry with the taste of dried plum, followed by the complex aromas coming from the sherry barrels. The notes of hazelnut and maple syrup provide structure while we appreciate the exalted roundness of ripe peaches.

Finish : The finish gives a rich, round and expressive sensation, supported by a beautiful sweetness which persists pleasantly.
