Product Description: This is a strand of Etched Carnelian Beads.
Era: 2500 BCE - 1800 BCE
Etched Carnelian beads from the Indus Valley Civilization are created by drawing patterns using a natron solution derived from plants and then firing them at low temperatures of around 300 to 400 degrees Celsius. While these beads have been excavated from sites in Mesopotamia and Afghanistan, it is believed that they were originally made in the Indus River region and transported via land and sea routes.
