Mike Oldfield
Description:
Virgin Records, a new British record label that began business in 1972, continued to make big sales and create sensational buzz in the music scene through the mid-1990s. Mike Oldfield was the first artist signed to Virgin Records when the company was founded. His debut album, "Tubular Bells," was a worldwide hit and supported the business side of Virgin Records in its early days. To promote the release of his debut album, Mike Oldfield will give a one-time live performance at Queen Elizabeth Hall in London. Since the album was recorded by Mike Oldfield, many musicians, mainly Canterbury Music artists, will gather at the venue to faithfully reproduce the songs. The performance will be recorded and broadcast as a BBC Radio special. The release of this special has been re-mastered to the best of the current state of the art, thanks to the discovery of a sub-master from the original broadcast.Unlike Mike Oldfield's solo multiple recordings, the performance of the musicians, all of whom have different personalities, is different from the studio work and faithfully reproduces the album, allowing the audience to appreciate this masterpiece album. A bonus track is a remastered version of the audio master of the live reproduction of "Tubular Bells Part 1" with different members for a special BBC TV program. Imported domestic version with bilingual English booklet.
