In the present work, here housed in two very attractive, large quarto half leather volumes, Tregelles has produced one of the earliest Greek New Testaments to depart from the Textus Receptus as its base text. The fruit of many years' labor, the result was a critically-reconstructed Greek New Testament with a comprehensive apparatus, available here in dozens and dozens of bi-fold and larger fold-outs. This feat would only be matched by the efforts and production of Tischendorf and von Soden.

The work is exceptionally rare with no copies on the market and not available in reprint. The copy of renowned Biblical scholar, F. F. Bruce, is in the possession ofTyndale House, Cambridge, as an important artifact of Biblical history. 

A must for any serious Bible collector or institution dedicated to the history of textual transmission and development. Often sought, sought for decades, and sought in vein. The only example we have ever handled.

Very good example preveriously the property of Francis C. Burkitt [1864-1935]; Norrish Professor of Theology at Cambridge. He was an important textual critic involved with the translation of the Syrian Palimpsest with J. Rendel Harris and published extensively on textual criticism.
