This graceful 1980s Céline skirt and blouse ensemble is tailored from floral silk crepe. Epitomising accessible French chic in the era when the founder, Céline Vipiana, was the creative force of the brand. The fabric is striking; printed with a repetitive pattern of tiny peach roses alongside blue and burgundy blooms, these florals form diagonal stripes across the blouse and skirt. The blouse is cut to a relaxed, boxy fit with pretty cap-sleeves and a keyhole cut out which ties at the front of the neck. The skirt is high-waisted and falls to the calf in neat box pleats. It fastens at the back of the waist with hidden black snap closures and two hook-and-eyes. Inside one of the pleats at the centre-front and one at the centre-back of the skirt, the fabric is printed with a bold logo label in black font on white - an early, subtle example of the logo display that has become so popular today. Both the skirt and blouse are unlined. There is a gold-toned hanging chain inside the neck adorned with an logo-debossed plaque.

The condition of both pieces is truly excellent with no signs of wear. The composition is 100% Silk. It is labelled a vintage French size 42 and we estimate this will best fit up to a UK size 10, US size 6 in modern sizing with plenty of room in the hip. Our model's sizes are: Bust: 31" (80cm), Waist: 25" (64cm), Hips: 34" (87cm) and Height: 5' 4" (164cm) and she's a size UK 6, US 2. The top of this suit had lots of room to spare on her and the skirt fit her well when worn low waisted.
