This cushion features a handcrafted 100% silk fabric created by master weavers in Myanmar. The design pays tribute to traditional Burmese Acheik motifs—patterns that date back over a thousand years. Woven on a village frame loom in Sagaing State, the intricate process involves the use of 100 individual shuttles, requiring an exceptional level of skill that only a handful of artisans continue to practise today.

Turquoise Mountain is working to preserve and protect this extraordinary weaving tradition, while celebrating the rich visual heritage of Acheik.

They are collaborating with women weavers across Myanmar’s ethnic groups, honouring both their remarkable craftsmanship and the deep sense of cultural identity woven into every piece. Their charitable mission supports artisans in earning sustainable incomes and plays a vital role in safeguarding Myanmar’s diverse textile legacy.
