Signed E.M. Reilly & Co and with very fine foliate and border engraving.
These locks do not feature a half position, so perhaps more shotgun than sporting gun.
Edward Michael Reilly was the son of Joseph Charles Reilly who was himself a Gunmaker.
The Company became known as E M Reilly & Co in 1859 up until 1918.
Although he also engraved as well as built, he was well known and built for King Alfonso XII of Spain.
I guess we won't ever know if this set of locks came from one of his guns, or if they were just finished by him.......whatever the case, this is a fine set of locks.
