Complexity, opulence, and balance are all words coming to mind when thinking about the Hentley Farm Clos Otto. The vines were planted by the previous owner Otto Kasper using a cutting from an ageing Shiraz clone, and tended to with older antique machinery and a well-practiced hand, the Clos Otto vineyard consistently yields super low quantities with ultra rich flavours. Nose: Ripe, Brooding, Aromatic. Ripe mulberry, candied violets, liquorice and pepper spices. Palate: Fruity, Full-bodied, Earthy. Plum and black berry fruits, layers of spice, liquorice, dark chocolate and earthy notes with fine tannins. Finish: Long, Sustained and Rich. There is a real sense of elegance with plush fruit and latent power.

Shiraz is a perfect wine to pair with red meat, such as beef, lamb, and venison. The tannins in Shiraz can complement the rich flavours of red meat, and the wine's bold taste can stand up to the intense flavours of grilled or roasted meat.
