Despite being nestled in the picturesque hills of the remote Chiles Valley, Green & Red remains firmly rooted in the culinary and vinous history of Berkeley. Ask Pam (wife of late G&R founder Jay Heminway about the parties hosted there in the 60's, and she'll confirm the guestlists were a who's who of the Berkeley food & wine scene (Alice Waters, Kermit Lynch, etc.). Their Chiles Canyon Zin's sourced from each of the property's three sites, and it captures all the dusty dark fruit and spice-box aromatics you would expect from a Cali Zin, but with lifted acidity, fresh red berry, and gently chewy tannins that refresh the palate. (There's a reason this has been Chez Panisse's house wine since inception!)
