This is a good quality dark brown leather case.
The stitching is very good .
The case closes with a brass billet fastening.
Straps for the Dring and girth of the saddle would pass through another strap on the back of the case. This is stamped "Andrews, Oxford", Henry Andrews was a saddler and harness maker on Oxford High Street from the late nineteenth to the early twentieth century.
Inside there is a pair of steel wire cutters or nips.
