This is a classic Great Britain 1d Red, featuring the left-facing profile of Queen Victoria, engraved by Charles Heath and based on the famous design by William Wyon. Issued between 1858 and 1879, these perforated penny reds replaced the imperforate versions first introduced in 1841. The stamp bears corner letters L–E, identifying its plate position.
