The SiOnyx Aurora BLACK is the first night vision device on the market that allows you to see vibrant daylight colors at night. The Aurora Black was developed as an affordable tactical night vision device, with full-color night vision and unparalleled light output. It is also the first model in the Aurora series to be certified for high impact and recoil.
Naturally, the environment doesn't change color at night. However, the human eye isn't capable of seeing those colors at night. With the Aurora Black, you can see them. The camera is capable of displaying color images during the day, at dusk, and at night. This is projected onto a full-color OLED display, which you can also set to grayscale. This completely transforms your viewing experience compared to classic night vision in navy green or black and white. The camera has an optical 0.5x magnification, which you can increase to 3x with digital zoom.
Photos and videos to your preference
The camera allows you to capture images entirely to your liking. For example, you can adjust the shutter speed for photos—from 1.5s to 1/8000s—and the frame rate for videos up to 60fps for HD recording. You can also select multiple shooting modes, such as HDR, self-timer, time-lapse, panorama, and burst mode. Built-in EIS (Electronic Image Stabilization) compensates for vibration and corrects blur. You can save your recordings to the included 32GB microSD card.
Streaming and remote control
All SiOnyx cameras connect via Wi-Fi to an Apple or Android device (phone or tablet). Once you have the free app—available in the Play Store as "SiOnyx Aurora"—you can remotely control the night vision device, stream live images, and record/share footage. For remote control, you can mount the SiOnyx on any standard tripod using the 1/4" threaded connection (see optional accessories).
The Aurora Black is primarily suited for semi-professional users who want to quickly switch between night vision and their own vision. This makes the camera ideal as an accessory for airsoft, hunting, or nature observation. You can use the camera handheld or attach it to a helmet/goggle kit, or control it remotely and livestream footage to your smartphone or tablet. You can use the camera in any situation with some residual light. In the middle of the night, that might be minimal moonlight! If you want to be able to see at all times, even when there's no residual light at all, an infrared illuminator is available as an option. During the day and at dusk, you can use the Day and Twilight modes. Because the camera is also recoil-certified (max 5.56mm), you can also mount the Aurora Black on a weapon (using the optional Picatinny mount).
