9/16 x 7/16 inch heart shaped satin finish sterling silver miraculous medal on an 18 inch stainless steel rhodium plated chain. The pendant, shaped like a heart, features diamond drag engraved detailing and has a raised oval shaped figure of Mary in the center. Surrounding Mary are the words, "O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee." The pendant also features light antiqued detailing. On the back of the medal in a brushed and antiqued finish is the letter M, representing Mary, surmounted by a cross representing the sacrifice of Jesus, and surrounded by twelve stars that represent the twelve apostles. The origin of the miraculous medal comes from the visions Saint Catherine Laboure experienced in the year 1830 of Mary Immaculate.
